Lab 12

Image
In this lab we were supposed to make a diagram as to how the final project/portfolio is going to be arranged. This meaning something like a road map. It should illustrate everything that should go into your portfolio. These things that should go into your portfolio are your labs, and projects. This is to help you plan out your projects before starting them.    The software I used was Microsoft Word 2016. This is relevant to web design because you need to be able to plan out your projects before you commit to anything, and also this will help you stay on track and not get you confused. I see myself using this in the future to plan out any projects I take on.

Project 1

In this project we were supposed to make a design similar to that of Andy Warhol. The objective of the lab was to teach us how to use colours in photoshop, and how to make some effects that can look appealing as well. I did this by [UNKNOWN METHOD].    The software used was Adobe Photoshop. This is relevant to web design because you need to know what looks appealing to the largest demographic, or the demographic you are aiming for. I see myself using these skills in the future to make some sort of art fora webpage of some kind.

Project 6

In this project we were supposed to work as a team and make a yearbook of the whole CTE web academy of 2019. In my group there were 4 people Lewis Pimento, Jeet Patel, Tarik Ozdemir, and I. Our team name was 4Guys seeing how there was 4 of us. I was the designer, Tarik was Photographer, Jeet was the Leader, and Lewis was the Editor. With each other's help we were able to think of ideas and the theme we came up with was Space. I would illustrate backdrops, and work on the details of the yearbook.    In this project I used InDesign, and Photoshop to complete the tasks I was assigned to. This is relevant to web design because we need to know how to make things look appealing so we can have the widest group of people reading or viewing our content. In the future I see myself using these skills to make magazines, books, etc.

2017 Annual Graphics Art Competition

Image
This reflection journal will be going over the 2017 Annual Graphics Art Competition held in June 2, 2017. In this competition we were separated into several groups, where we would design a poster, illustrate a drawing, program a website, etc. I was put in the illustration category, we had 4 hours to draft and colour our drawings using tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator. We were provided Wacom Intuos Pros to use for drawing. We got two wins in Web Design and that's all.    Afterwards we had to cross the Brooklyn Bridge where we took pictures of the bridge and the surroundings.

Newspaper Project

Image
In this project we were required to work together to make a newsletter/paper. The objective of this project was to get us to work as a team, and learn what goes into making a newspaper/letter. We did it by combining the articles we had made previously along with making an entertainment page, and a classified section which is used for advertisements.    In this project I used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign. This is relevant to web design because many companies send out newsletters to tell their users about new events, features, or anything that may be going on. I see myself using these skills in future mainly for sending out information for my own company or a company I work for.

SPJ Code of Ethics

In this article we learn about what journalists do ,what journalism is, and what it must contain. Things such as the truth, should try to find the most reliable of sources, etc. The article is telling us about what is expected of us when making an article that informs people about a subject.    Articles should contain relevant information, that is true, has reliable sources to back up the claims, and also be accountable for your work. If your article has something that is false take responsibility and change it to the correct information. You should give the people we hear less the ability to be vocal about problems they face.    The article should treat people as intelligent and respectful. You should change your approach to an article based on the cultural differences, be more compassionate for those victims of crimes, and don't try to change the opinion of the public on a criminal suspect until they have been identified as the culprit.   ...
