LAB 7 : Filters

In this lab we were supposed to use two images, make 4 duplicates of 1 image and keep the single image of the other, and then we were suppose to apply different filters to them. The objective of the lab was to teach us how to use the filters properly. I completed the task by making a new file that is 800px by 600px with a resolution of 400. Then I placed the 2 photos I chose, and duplicated one of them 4 times. Then I arranged them in a 2x6 grid. I selected the first picture, went to Filters>Filter Gallery>Artistic>Cutout, then adjusted the settings clicked OK and moved on to the next copy (Right of the Cutout). I went back the filter gallery and went to the Distort drop menu and used the Glow Diffuse adjusted settings clicked OK and moved to the next copy. For this copy go back to the Filter Gallery and this time go to brushed strokes, and use the Angled Strokes filter adjust settings, and click OK. Next copy will have the glowing edges filter, so we go back to the filter gallery and go to Stylize, use the Glowing Edges filter, adjust settings and click OK. Now then the last copy will have the Graphic Pen Filter, go back to the filter gallery go to Sketch then Graphic Pen, adjust the settings and click OK. That's all for the copies. Now the single picture you have will be liquified. To do this go to the layer you have the image on, right click it then click Rasterize Layer, then go to Filter>Liquify and mess with the image you used. After that, label the different filters used under the respective image, write  your name, lab, date. You're done now!
The Software we used was Adobe Photoshop CS6. This is relevant to web design because we need to know how to use the tools, so we can make images for our own websites. I see it used in order to make something with a unique art style.
