LAB 2 : Image Adjustments

In this lab we were suppose to make a selection of a dog, scale it down, duplicate it 7 times, then apply different types of image adjustments such as "black and white", or "hue and saturation". The objective of the lab was to teach us about the effects of the image adjustment tools, and how we would utilize them. I used the selection tool that we learned to use in the previous lab, and then learned to use a "quick mask mode" in order to make finer selections than what we had done previously. I would then copy the selection to a new layer and then resize it, to make it smaller. I would then copy that into several new layers. This is where I will start manipulating the copies of the selection, and change stuff about it such as, the hue, saturation, brightness, etc.
The photo editing program we had used was Adobe Photoshop CS6. It is relevant to Web Design because, websites are a form of visual media, that needs some sort of way to keep the viewer engaged, and so imagery is a way to keep their interest in the webpage. The webpage needs to have colourful graphics if the site is targeted towards a kid and for adults it doesn't have to be as colourful. I see myself using this skill to edit photos to get a better enhanced image, than the original.
