LAB 3 : Image Adjustments 2

In this lab we were suppose to make 4 copies of a red car, and adjust the saturation on one image, the hue on another, replace the colour on a different one, and make one grayscale. Each layer will have a different adjustment. The objective of this lab was to continue our understanding of the image adjustment tools, and the effects they will have on the image. To complete the project I made a new file with a pixel size of 800x600 with a resolution of 72px using RGB. We were given a picture of a car to use, that we had to resize to 250x186. We would then copy that scaled down image to the new file that was made. Copy that image 4 times and move each of them separately around the canvas forming a wide cascade of the 4 copies. For the first layer at the top, you will turn into a grayscale image, so I went to image>adjustments>Black And White. This made the image black and white (grayscale), rename the layer "Black & White". For the second layer we will be changing the saturation of the image. To do this I used the rectangular marquee tool and selected the image on the second layer, then I went to the bottom of the palette where there is a half shaded circle> Hue/Saturation, then move the slider for Saturation to the right, rename the layer "Saturation". For the third layer we had to replace the colour. This meant we had to go to Image>Adjustment>Replace Colour. Then we go to image, select the red on the car, then go to selection and turn the fuzziness up until the car is visible in  white, then around the area that has the sliders, there will be a colour selector, use that to change the colour to the desired colour, rename the layer to "Replace Colour". Now for the final layer, we have to change the hue, so we do what we did for Saturation and go to the half shaded circle in the bottom right corner, and go to Hue/Saturation,  rename the layer "Hue". Now we instead of using the Saturation slider, we use the Hue slider. Now we just label the layers with "Black and White", "Saturation", "Replace Colour", and "Hue", write your name Lab number, and date.
The software we used was Adobe Photoshop CS6. This is relevant with web design because, a web site is a visual media and we need to have an engaging style in order to keep the viewer there and engaged. Without an engaging style we will not be able to keep viewers coming back, and if your site has adverts, then you won't be making as much revenue as you would, if the website was engaging. Using Photoshop helps us learn about the visual media for websites. I see myself using these skills to make assets for my own projects, and client projects.
