In this lab we were supposed to colour in a image we made on paper, but with solid shapes, no brushes, just the shapes we have access to using custom shapes in Photoshop. The objective of the lab was to show us that there are other tools we can use to accomplish the same goal, and that the other tools, such as the custom shapes tool, are available to use anytime. I did this lab by going to the rectangle tool and then holding down until the custom shape tool is available and then click it. Now I would go to shape and click it, there will be a gear in the top right corner, click it and then check "All". Now you will have access to all the shapes. Then I selected the shapes that I needed to use in order to completely colour the drawing.
We used Adobe Photoshop CS6. This is relevant because as designers we need to know what tools are available to use as designers, we must understand how to use the tools, and what the tools themselves do. I see myself using these skills to make something like a quick concept art or something similar, or make it into a design I could use for a webpage banner or something else.
