LAB 10 : Page Numbers


   In this lab we were supposed to work on page numbers. We had to number them in corresponding order. The objective of the lab was to teach us how to make pages that are on order automatically. This was done by marking a new document and getting the amount of pages you need and then double click A-Master, then make a text box. Then go to the (TYPE) tab > (INSERT SPECIAL CHARACTER) > (MARKERS) > (CURRENT PAGE NUMBER). This will make an A appear in the text box and you will double click off of A-Master. You will now have the page numbers organized for you.

   For this lab we used Adobe InDesign. This is relevant to web design because we should know the full extent of what we can do in InDesign and Photoshop. I see my self using these skills in the future if I were to make a book or short novel or something similar.

In this project, we were supposed to make a collage of images about a person inside of a cutout of that person, and also make an outline of that person that describes said person. The objective of the lab was to see if we could use what we learned so far, it was to get us more familiar with things such as masks. Collage: I started by duplicating the picture of the person, then I made a selection of the person I chose. I would delete the person. Now I would import the images I was using for the collage. I would drag the images below the cutout, using the layer’s tab on the right-side panel. Then I would align them and save. Outline: I started by duplicating the picture of the person, then I made a selection of the person I chose. This time I would go to Select>Inverse, this allows me to delete everything except the person. Now I would go back and do Select>Inverse again, to select the person. Project 3 : Restore Old Photograph

   In this lab we were supposed to edit a damaged image with the tools we used in lab 8 which were, spot healing tool, healing tool, patch tool, etc. The objective of the lab was to teach us how to use tools to fix an image that was damaged. I completed this by using the healing tool to get rid of the damage in the background. I then would go and fix the bottom of the picture with the blanket or something similar, for this I would use the patch tool, healing tool, and spot healing tool. Then I would use the same tools to work on the colour damage. After that I started work on the eyes, and then finished the hair.    We used Adobe Photoshop CS6. This is relevant to web design because we may have to fix images in our line of work depending on the way we work and what type of work we do. I see myself using these skills to fix images that I need to use for a webpage or just as a business in general.

LAB 7 : Filters

   In this lab we were supposed to use two images, make 4 duplicates of 1 image and keep the single image of the other, and then we were suppose to apply different filters to them. The objective of the lab was to teach us how to use the filters properly. I completed the task by making a new file that is 800px by 600px with a resolution of 400. Then I placed the 2 photos I chose, and duplicated one of them 4 times. Then I arranged them in a 2x6 grid. I selected the first picture, went to Filters>Filter Gallery>Artistic>Cutout, then adjusted the settings clicked OK and moved on to the next copy (Right of the Cutout). I went back the filter gallery and went to the Distort drop menu and used the Glow Diffuse adjusted settings clicked OK and moved to the next copy. For this copy go back to the Filter Gallery and this time go to brushed strokes, and use the Angled Strokes filter adjust settings, and click OK.
